About Alison Roark
How I Work
My clients come to me for a number of reasons. Mostly because they are hurting and in need of intervention and change. I strive to help families make positive permanent change through a variety of methods. I practice from a holistic and integrative perspective which includes looking at all facets of the individual’s life and using appropriate interventions to help clients feel better.
I specialize in working with children and adolescents who struggle with behavior problems including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, OCD and other Anxieties as well as Depression and other Mental Health problems. This is often accomplished from a Cognitive Behavioral Approach. However, I use a wide variety of tools to help your child improve their behavior and gain new skills. I always include parents or other caregivers in the child’s treatment. No child or family is the same so no treatment looks exactly the same. I will tailor a plan to meet you and child’s specific needs.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio. I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Miami University (2007) and Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from the University of Dayton (2009).
I have extensive experience working with children and families in a variety of settings including agency mental health, in-home behavior therapy, and private practice. I am member of the Flourish Center as well as other professional organizations including the American and Central Ohio Counseling Associations.
